Charitable Mission

The Center for Women’s Health’s charitable mission is fundamental to its founder and director, Joel M. Evans, M.D. Having pursued studies in spirituality, metaphysics, and personal transformation for many years, Dr. Evans lives his life committed to being of service to others, respecting our animal friends and honoring the environment. He believes that giving back, both indirectly through charitable giving and directly through hands-on work, is a vitally important part of who he is as a human being. The following is a list of the non-profit institutions and charitable work which Dr. Evans supports:

Madurai Charitable Trust (MCT):

The MCT is the charity with which Dr. Evans is the most closely involved. He first became aware of MCT during his trip to India in 2009, when he saw, first hand, the living conditions and health problems of the rural villagers in the southern city of Madurai, India. He was introduced to the trustees of MCT and was overwhelmed by their open-hearted dedication and commitment to working long hours for little or no money purely for the benefit of the needy, whether by helping school children, the elderly or the sick. Dr. Evans was able to meet the children at the local school, visit with the residents of the Akash Aged Care Home, and observe the importance and effectiveness of Padmam Hospital, the local hospital. He was awestruck by how much small amounts of money can do to improve the conditions of these villagers, and how gratifying it was to donate funds to this worthy cause. Since then, Dr. Evans has dedicated his time and financial support to modernizing Padmam Hospital as well as the other projects of the MCT. He does this through direct donation as well as dedicating two evenings each week to providing free services (Chakra Balancing and Spiritual Discussion Group) in return for donations to MCT.
